Um, indeed. Is it impolite to ask if that behavior will have a nice big
red button labeled 'never use the GNOME stuff because it mostly sucks?'
Probably spelled '--without-gnome' :)
But at least now you can put the menubar at the bottom of the window.
Oh my haven't widget sets come a long way. Bleah.
FWIW, GTK with the 'Xenomorph' drawing tool is actually fairly
tolerable. The tear-off menu bit is kind of wonky, but the rest of it is
OK.
GNOME still pretty much bites though.[1]
