Hi Folks! Apologies for the mass mailing, but I'm not sure when I'll next be able to send out any email. My bloody hard drive broke! It's on its way to Thailand (of all places) and it didn't want to take me with it. :-( They can't tell me how long I'll be without a drive. This is going to mean that my presence on the 'net is going to be *extremely* limited. Rendhalver is currently baby-sitting the data that I was able to get off the drive and he says that I'm welcome to come over and check email, and that sort of stuff. Which will probably happen once a week or fortnight. If anyone needs to get in contact with me urgently and you don't mind paying for an international phone call, Rendhalver has my numbers. I'll do my best to get a beta release (XEmacs) out the door in a couple of weeks. Some outstdanding issues: (my apologies if any of this has already been taken care of) Jerry - What's happening with that big patch of yours (lisp float type?)? Has Ben gotten back to you on that. I'd like to see that patch go in. Has anyone else reported the same problem as me with the postgresql module and error-checking=all? Have you had anymore ideas? Ben - You introduced a bug just before you went overseas (welcome back, BTW). It's something to do with how XEmacs is handling sub-processes. My feeling is that it is buffer-related because it only crops up when dealing with larger amounts of output/input. For example, using Mailcrypt to GnuPG sign an email, if the email is short it'll work; but if it's long (20k or so) it fails. There isn't any error. It just looks like the sub-process isn't getting any input. I've spoken with Mike Sperber about this, so perhaps he could give you more details. I'd really like this one resolved before the next beta. Another thing for you, Ben; Why is RET running "LFD" in a console or -nw? In X it is "newline". It makes using XEmacs with -nw pretty well impossible. This one has been around since your initial Great Mule Merge [tm]. It would be fantastic if you fix that up too, thanks Ben. Mike - Are there any kkcc issues that need addressing before the next beta? Bill - Sorry to leave you in the lurch on the MH-E/XEmacs front. I wasn't able to test that mh-yank-cur-msg thing. Perhaps Peter could test that for you, I'm pretty sure that he has XEmacs installed. Eicq People - One of these days I'll get around to getting Eicq up and running again. I promise.
