This setting rebuilds automatically any outdated dir file overwriting any if it exists so that changes made to that file can be iremediably lost. So this option should be only be set by someone with full knowledge of what he is doing, someone like Chipsy who has decided not to have any dir files or does not care for what they contain. Oscar
