Hi,
I wrote the bug report Sept '04 (last year). We finally found the cause of the
problem.
Nothing wrong with xemacs. It was the "klipper" Application of KDE which has bad
interference with the x selection. Stopping klipper and xemacs works o.k.
klipper is known to break several other applications too.

I believe this is a known problem with zmacs-regions. As a
workaround, I think you can (setq zmacs-regions nil). Can you try
that and see if it works?
