 libtoolizing XEmacs. 
  libtool'izing XEmacs would be a separate task.  We'd have to libtool'ize
the modules as well, which is what would have to wait.

  I'll take a look at it for 21.2 or whatever the major hacking is
happening on as soon as the holidays settle down a little.
