Just to make the situation clear:
If the toolbar color is set via customize (nothing else!), the FIRST toolbar
gets the wrong background color (for me it is white). All following toolbars
are displayed correctly with gray80 (as definied via customize-face).
I think this is a bug. Perhaps the order of reading customs and displaying
the
toolbar should be changed. If I find the time and the place where it
is done,
I will try to fix it (but I'm currently forced to write a MegaShoppingCart
for
some web site, and this takes time to...).
I will do either of these two in faces.el:
(set-face-background 'gui-element '((x default) . "Gray80")
'global)
This will set the toolbar and modeline to Gray80, but is currently vetoed
by Kyle.
(set-face-background 'toolbar '((x default) . "Gray80") 'global)
This will restore Gray80 as the default color for the toolbar under X.
I guess customize settings in general should be read early but we need one
of these to prevent wild outrage from users once 21.0 is released.
