Can anyone explain how to get the old-style file listings in ediff? My listing under 21.5.1 shows "*remote file*" instead of a time stamp as in previous versions. Thanks. Tom Browder

There is a problem with EFS in that it attaches a file-local-copy filename handler to every local file, even if it doesn't need any special action to obtain a local copy. I believe it is a bug in EFS. I sent email about it couple of months ago, but nobody responded. --michael
