That's not what he meant; Karl can find his init.el with his eyes
closed and both hands tied behind his back.
Karl, why don't you submit a patch against etc/sample.init.el?
Changing ancient bindings takes a politically long time (and will go
into 21.4 over my fossilized dead body ;-), "stable" means NO
surprises, no bad ones and NO GOOD ONES either), but sample.init.el
does not suffer those problems.
What we need is a mechanism, probably with a UI off the help menu, to
do themes of "modern" and "traditional" etc bindings. Jan Vroonhof
was working on this, but he then did the unspeakable (got a day job, I
mean, not move to
gnu.org ;-).
