I was afraid that someone would ask about that...ok, hold on while I go and
see if I can reproduce what I saw... Yup, here's an easy way. Search for
'cursor' (and no, I'm not actually putting the single quotes in the string
I'm
typing). Returns a fair amount of hits. Then go back, check the 'restrict
matched files' and select everything in the multi select list, which
theoretically should return the same results as an unrestricted search, but
that returns 0 hits instead.
I also tried restricting the search to 21.4 specific patches only by searching
for '21\.4;cursor'. Doing that this morning seems to just sit and spin
without returning anything (although perhaps I'm just being impatient and not
waiting long enough, but the simpler search above returns almost instantly).
That seems to be related to the '21\.4' portion, as that by itself is also
taking longer than I'm willing to wait ('Artificial Intelligence' comes back
with results rather quickly though. Doesn't seem to like '21.4' or
'21.*4'
either. I don't remember if this is the exact behavior I was seeing last week
or not.
Ah, figures, just as I was about to send this the last test for '21\.4' that I
tried (this time w/ Partial Matches checked) actually returned and seems to be
correct. Although judging from some of the results I'm seeing, the Partial
Matches shouldn't have been necessary for some of the results. Hm. Trying
'21\.4;cursor' with Partial Match checked...getting results now, but the first
one I checked didn't have 'cursor' in it anywhere and according to the
instructions the semicolon says "both in same file", so that seems wrong to
me. And if I uncheck Partial Match again, it seems to just sit there (again,
maybe I'm just not waiting long enough but the Partial Match one came back
without too much of a delay).
