Where does modern xemacs put lock files (for clash detection)? I have
21.4.10 installed on linux and on cygwin. On linux I found
/var/lock/xemacs, but it doesn't seem to be used. On cygwin I can't
find it.
INSTALL says:
`statedir' indicates where to put architecture-independent data files
that XEmacs modifies while it runs; it defaults to
/usr/local/lib as well. We create the following
subdirectories under `statedir':
- `xemacs/lock', containing files indicating who is editing
what, so XEmacs can detect editing clashes between
users.
I believe this is outdated?
This all began because I was having trouble with a lock when I try to
edit a file using xemacs running on linux, with the actual file on a
win2000 system exported via cifs (smb).
