I have written a minor mode p4.el that works with the Perforce SCM
(
www.perforce.com). Unfortunately, this doesn't meet the criteria of
GNU Emacs maintainers since they have expressed reservations about
accepting code that might encourage the use of non-free software.
I would like to know what the policy is for XEmacs maintainers to
accept lisp contributions to XEmacs.
If anyone can let me know that, I'd appreciate it.
I believe there will be no problems in accepting your code. XEmacs 21
will be distributed in the forms of "packages," so all you will need
to do is create a p4 package to be downloaded by people who care about
p4 support. The package will reside on
ftp.xemacs.org.
PS: I post this to gnu.emacs.sources frequently. If there is an
xemacs
sources newsgroup, please let me know, and I can post it there
too.
I don't think there is a specific newsgroup for XEmacs sources (but
there should be one!), but there is comp.emacs.xemacs on which you
can, for example, post announcements containing the URL of the
changes.
