From the point of view of the rest of the team, GTK is _unsupported_, and the priority is that GTK _not_ break the rest of XEmacs, so it's not not likely that anybody but Bill will try to fix. FYI, I will shortly synch the temporary devel branch (CVS tag temporary-21-5) to the release branch, and from that point on _all_ active GTK development will be taking place on that branch. Fixes of GTK on the release branch (21.4) will in principle have the same severe restriction that the merge had: GTK fixes may not have any impact outside of #ifdef HAVE_GTK. So if you're really interested in GTK development you may want to switch over to that branch. I haven't been able to figure this one out - if you select with the keyboard, you can paste into another application, but the mouse buttons seem to be braindamaged. I haven't dug very far into the new selection code that is in 21.2, but I imagine there is a trivial fix for this somewhere in the guts of select.el (or it may be a f-up on my part in my event construction, but it worked in 21.1...)
