I'll take a look, but first is this 21.4 or 21.5? If it's 21.4, I
think Aidan long ago pruned the 21.5 list, and you could try that.
It's with 21.5. It looks like we would need that buffer to be just over
1300 bytes.

Yeah, that's what I figured.

I think you can probably drop it. Japanese and Chinese can be handled
with Canna or Wnn, and pretty much everything else probably goes
through Quail/LEIM.
I've taken this route. XIM support in the Fedora builds of XEmacs is now
gone. Since it hasn't been working for months, anyway, and I have not
received a single bug report, I don't expect this to be a problem.
