My configure does include offix support by default, but what is it?
Can it work on my poor ol' SunOS which runs fvwm window manager (no
CDE or OpenWin)? If yes, how do I use it? If no, I guess I should
specify --with-offix=no, right?
Just get some OffiX enabled progs, compile them, voila!
Have a look at
http://leb.net/~offix/ for the OffiX project. OffiX using
programs are: xv (with patch), TkStep (get it from my page
http://www.fga.de/~ograf/TkStep.shtml), uncountable (I lie) other hacks for
standart programs.
WindowMaker is also OffiX enabled (the dock knows how to forward drops to the
applications). KDE uses a old version of the OffiX protocol, but will soon
move to Xdnd (as far as I know, qt of the newest version already uses Xdnd).
But simple OffiX stuff should also run with sunos, cause it uses only standart
X stuff.
