I believe something that can be used to display an image of a given
type, loaded from a specified image file, would probably be
sufficient. If you agree, I write down a proposal for such an
interface next weekend or so, and then discuss it with you.

the XEmacs developers can be kept in the loop.
I very much hope we can have compatibility in this area.
