So, has anyone ever opened a problem report with IBM about this? I
opened an internal defect report, but, being from inside IBM, they
didn't pay any attention to me....
I opened a problem on this, and didn't get very far. I've attached the
last thing I got from IBM on it.

I have researched this problem based on the information you provide a
nd have not found any defects that address this type of problem. In
order for us to pursue this item further, we will need a testcase
that is in the range of 50 lines of code with which we can reproduce
the problem. Please create a testcase and a README which describes
the necessary steps to compile and reproduce the problem. tar any
files into a file named 54636.487.tar and ftp it to testcase.boulder.
ibm.com and place it in the directory /aix.

Like you can get an Xt window *open* in 50 lines, much less also
do an XtAddAppInput(). I pointed them at x3270 3.1.1.6, told them
to get it, untar it, say 'configure' and 'make' and watch it wedge
waiting on network input, they wanted me to trim it down myself.
I just haven't had time to do that level of surgery on the code.
