It would be. Had I realized that it didn't only matter for the MD5 computation
but also for the transfer I would have pressed for this to be done earlier

The files.el part needs to be applied to 21.1 and 21.2.

Michael was supposed to apply this together with the EFS part but I guess he never
got around to doing it. (A quick check in my packages shows that EFS has the patch now).
