I don't believe it is necessary to demand assignment of copyright
before we allow code contributions. The GPL is pretty clear in
this regard. Section 2 of the GPL states that if you modify a
GPL'd program the result, if distributed, must be distributed
under the terms of GPL. If the GPL is a valid license then this
is all the protection we need in order to continue to use and
modify and distribute XEmacs.
I agree and said this to RMS. But no reply ....
