I don't know. What I do know is that gcc 2.95 compiles 21.1.7 with
almost no warnings at all and so does the Solaris compiler.
you are right, i just upgraded to 2.95 and all the weird ones (almost)
dissapeared.
just the ones i could fix (i think...not sure if it didn't break them
instead?) remained and i could still fix them.
those are the ones that remain:
/opt/src/xemacs/lib-src/hexl.c: In function `main':
/opt/src/xemacs/lib-src/hexl.c:150: warning: `c' might be used
uninitialized in this function
/opt/src/xemacs/lib-src/hexl.c:197: warning: `c' might be used
uninitialized in this function
eval.c: In function `Feval':
eval.c:2850: warning: `val' might be used uninitialized in this function
eval.c: In function `Ffuncall':
eval.c:3116: warning: `val' might be used uninitialized in this function
window.c: In function `Fset_window_configuration':
window.c:4952: warning: `previous_minibuf_top' might be used
uninitialized in this function
and here are my patches, if they are wrong or doing bad things, someone
tell me because iam building on it :)
thanx for the answers, i am very happy to have a compiler that behaves
on warnings now :)
(sent this both to answer xemacs-beta and to patches, hope it's alright)
