The only thing you need to be careful about is that in the Makefile there is an AUTHOR_VERSION and a VERSION. You can update AUTHOR_VERSION in any way you like, but VERSION is Norbert's property, and you'll need to coordinate which him if you want it to appear in some special way (eg, be equal to AUTHOR_VERSION).
