I'm not sure which choice is the most portable, and has been around the
longest.
Both solutions look reasonably easy but I am wondering if one is a truly
equivalent solution. Because, last time I was told to solve my problem
with Xkb it turned out to cause even more problems and as a result I completely
disable xkb when I can.
