Here's a discussion I had about this issue with Barry Warsaw (hope you
don't mind me forwarding this, Barry). I think the outcome is that
everyone thinks its a good idea, but noone has the time to do it :-)

Yup, I know about that. I'll respect his position and not advertise
the mods on any gnu.* groups. I'll probably use comp.emacs and
comp.emacs.xemacs.

Yes, yes, yes! Everytime I delve into vc.el I kind of shudder, but I
definitely agree with this goal. I think Perforce integration may not
be too difficult since it has a very CVS-ish command model from what
I've seen in my quick scan. Once we get it in house and I can look
over the manual, I'll know more.
