I've switched my daily-use XEmacs over to 21.2, and observed that

loaded machine, across a 10Mbps LAN, and the local X server is XF86
4.0, which seems to have some slow painting issues on my workstation.)
This is not what I would call widget-like behavior, because there
should be no exposes being generated: the widget is the top window in
the stack.
Is this a problem with Falk's progress bar widget, or with XEmacs?
This shouldn't happen and the code should cope, but its actually difficult
to detect when its broken since it still works (as should be the case with
all good optimizations). I actually managed to break image caching
altogether the other day and XEmacs still worked - albeit rather slowly.
