What is the status of running 21.5 (beta31) on OS X Lion?
Don't know. It invariably takes me months to recover fully from a Mac
OS X upgrade, so I avoid new versions until absolutely necessary (or
it comes installed on a new machine).
XEmacs has never been a problem, though. Since XEmacs itself is a
single-threaded TTY/X11 application on Mac OS X, I expect that any
issues will be due to "feature libraries" (such as image libraries),
that can be worked around by not configuring that feature.
a number of problems reported with macports compilations that
required GNU CC.
I've been using stock Apple GCC on all OS X versions from Panther to
Snow Leopard, and more recently MacPorts GCC 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 and
clang 3.1 on Leopard, and MacPorts GCC 4.4 and clang 3.1 on Snow
Leopard with no particular problem. I've also seen various reports
(and MacPorts patches) to deal with Lion issues, but AFAIK these
aren't going to particularly affect XEmacs.
