Folk: I've been out of touch for a couple of weeks after murdering my
filesystem. While I wasn't looking,
what happened to the <Xemacs(a)xemacs.org> mail list? It's mentioned on
the website but there's no subscription instructions. And I'm not
getting any traffic from what was formerly a very busy list.
I don't see an announcement here. Is it down for a reason?

It's traditionally been a gateway to the `comp.emacs.xemacs' newsgroup
for the people who don't have access to USENET or who prefer mailing
lists to newsgroups. If technically possible, I would recommend
following the newsgroup.
Perhaps the gateway is down?

This wouldn't happen to have happened when they moved from
majordomoï¼ tux to mailmanï¼ sourceforge about a year ago? Or maybe when
we came back to tux about 6 months ago?
The mailman configuration says it's bidirectional.
I bet that when we moved back to tux we forgot to set up a cron job or
something. I'll check that sometime in the next day or so. I don't
know if I have sufficient perms to set up the cron job, it may take a
while to get going if we need root's help.

xemacs(a)xemacs.org is supposed to be a bidirectional gateway to the
comp.emacs.xemacs newsgroup. AFAIK posts to it are still gatewayed to
xemacs-news(a)xemacs.org, and on from there to the newsgroup. And
vice-versa.
My guess is that you got auto-killed for too many bounces ... no,
you're listed as still there and receiving.
I'll look into what's happening with the list. Maybe it's not
gatewaying or something for some reason.
