Installing These:

Manually:

1) Download the packages that you want to install from:
/ftp.xemacs.org:/pub/xemacs/beta/experimental/packages/
2) Unpack them to: [1]
/usr/local/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/
3) Re-start XEmacs.
Using XEmacs Package Tools (XEmacs 21.[245].x):
----------------------------------------------
1) Tools -> Packages -> Add Download Site -> Pre-Releases
2) Tools -> Packages -> List and Install
3) Select the packages you wish to install (there are brief
instructions at the bottom of the packages buffer).
4) Packages -> Install/Remove Selected
5) Re-start XEmacs.
Using XEmacs Package Tools (XEmacs 21.1.14):

I just recompiled everything from CVS (xemacs and packages). I assume
that CVS (for a package) is more or less the same as a prerelease
package.
I had some little problems. First xslt-process didn't compile for me,
sorry that I don't have more info in that, I'll try do send something
for this.
The other thing was that when trying to do a completion in jde mode
(jde-complete-at-point) Emacs threw the following error, which I was
able to cure by recompiling jde-complete.el by hand. Maybe there is some
problems with the order of compilation in the Makefiles?

As a genreal not I'd like to advertise the use of
M-x report-xemacs-bug
It will give us all the details about your XEmacs configuration,
installed packages, load-path-shadows :-), and features.

When I did the original port of the JDE 2 line, there were a number of
requires missing, which means macro definitions were not being pulled
in. This looks like exactly the same kind of bug. I documented where
I did this. Did you check when you pulled in the current port?

for instance, jde-1_24 might also still be good.) There are .upstream
files for every file I changed. Just diff from those.

Hmm, ok. I think the information will have been lost in the package
reorganisation (PaulK did some work after you I believe). So anything you
can remember will help.

jde-1_24. The .upstream files are sitting right there in lisp/.
Martin ignored them in one of his typo crusades, which sucks, but the
diffs are still, ermh, obvious.

This is a missing dependency. I don't know whether they are supposed to
be transitive, but at any rate it requires jde, and that requires
`sh-script' (for `executable.el'), and *that* isn't in xslt-process's
requirements list.

Nobody else has said anything about this. Is it possible that you had
a copy of that tarball (probably a partial one) already in the default
package download directory? (/tmp/$USER/).
If so, could you please delete it and try to install that package
again. Let me know how it goes.

Nobody else has said anything about this. Is it possible that you had
a copy of that tarball (probably a partial one) already in the default
package download directory? (/tmp/$USER/).
If so, could you please delete it and try to install that package
