Ben Wing <ben(a)666.com> writes in xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org:
Im in the process of making a web site about the architectural
changes
to XEmacs that I think should be made both in the near future and
farther off.
I am 100% behind this and Ben is the effective leader of XEmacs
21.2+.
We're going to go through with the last of the out-with-the-old
patches, but my only personal input on the medium-term future is in
response to this:
I already find it a serious pain to move to new xemacsen because I
have so much random stuff (some of it more than 10 yrs old) to check
and possibly fix, and so many random me-specific patches to the old
version to check and possibly fold in (which is why I'm still using
19.14).
We *have got* to deal with backwards compatibility better in the
future.
