Whatever you choose, make sure it uses libc6 aka GNU libc. All of
the most recent distributions use it, so it shouldn't particularly be
a problem. The two are not binary compatible (hence the .so major
version number change). All new code should work with GNU libc and
usage and support of libc5 is vanishing.
