Now. I'm also having some difficulty with XEmacs CVS. I've been
trying to get an up-to-date workspace all weekend, but I always get
this:
$ cvs -d :pserver:cvs@cvs.xemacs.org:/pack/xemacscvs login
Logging in to :pserver:cvs@cvs.xemacs.org:2401/pack/xemacscvs
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.xemacs.org(130.225.247.90):2401
failed: Connection timed out
Instructions at

still work fine via my private ISP in Germany.
I just tested this.
If you have your private ssh key around, try specifying the repository as
-d:ext:xemacs@cvs.xemacs.org:/pack/xemacscvs
Don't forget setting
CVS_RSH=ssh
Test your access as follows for R/W access.
$ ssh -l xemacs
cvs.xemacs.org
Enter passphrase for key '...':
version
M Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.1p1 (client/server)

Control-d

cvs.xemacs.org isn't ping-able, but that shouldn't be a problem.
gets to hop 26, then says this:

Is this a known problem? If so, what's the ETA on getting CVS back up?
CVS is up.
Thanks,
Good Luck!
