================================================================ Dear Bug Team! I updated several packages last night. All seemed to go well, but this morning I could not start either gnus or VM. The minibuffer said something like (I'm sorry I did not write down the exact message) "unable to load dig". I couldn't simply uninstall mail-lib, for example, because then gnus and VM would fail for a different reason. But I don't know how to revert to the previous version either. I tried upgrading XEmacs from 21.4.10 to 21.4.13, but that didn't change anything. So I moved the xemacs-packages directory and installed the sumo-tarball. Now all is well. If I now check the packages, I see that the packages in question are at older versions. ediff 1.47 1.46 gnus 1.71 1.68 ilisp 1.32 1.31 mail-lib 1.59 1.57 mh-e 1.23 1.19 prog-modes 1.73 1.72 texinfo 1.24 1.23 tm 1.36 1.35 xemacs-base 1.77 1.75 xemacs-devel 1.55 1.52 So I believe updating one of these is what caused the problem, but I still don't know which one.
