latest cvs, configured with --with-xaw=3d, when i enter a dialog box
sometimes i receive a (generalized) random char in the minibuffer,
that looks like a prefix, e.g., "up -"
i have debug-on-error raised, but no error was signalled
i checked the "*Help: lossage*" buffer, too, to find that the spourios
character were not transcribed there
