 If I comment out the (mc-setversion "gpg"), I have no
problems, but
 with that line in I get the following error.  FWIW, XEmacs 21.1.2 has
 no problem with this.  Any idea what the problem is? 
No.  It is possible that Gnus, etc. need rebuilding with the new
mailcrypt in place, but if that was your problem, you would have the
same behavior on 21.1 as 21.2.
