Dear Bug Team!
I have a fresh install of XEmacs 21.4.13/cygwin (1.5.5, i think) under
Windows XP Pro. If I run (gnuserve-start) or launch a subshell, my
xemacs windows become corrupted. XEmacs is still responding to
commands but is unable to repaint correctly.
Charlie,
This is not a problem I've experienced; however, there were several subprocess
related problems in XEmacs caused by Cygwin 1.5.x, most notably that
cut-n-paste would stop interacting with the Windows clipboard after any
subprocess had been started from within XEMacs. The cut-n-paste issue can be
solved by installing a current Cygwin snapshot. You might try installing a
recent snapshot to see if that fixes the problem. If you do, please report your
findings back to the list.
Before you install a snapshot; however, you might want to be sure you're
actually running Cygwin 1.5.5 because you definitely *don't* want to install a
1.5 snapshot on anything but a current 1.5 installation.
