I didn't have any XEmacs resources at all; both GNU Emacs and XEmacs
have been using the Emacs resources for background and foreground
colors and fonts up until now without any problems. When I first
started beta 37 it came up using what I assume are the defaults for
these resources; I duplicated the various resources with the
"XEmacs" prefix and all was as it was before.
What Greg wants to say is that what you see is a bug: you shouldn't
have to switch to `XEmacs'; `Emacs' should work as it did before.
If you are interested in debugging the problem, you may wish to see
what have_xemacs_resources_in_xrdb() returns when called from
x_init_device(). It should return 0 for you.
