Stepping in as the person who converted Ben's text to HTMl, and made
that decision: the actual addresses are displayed instead of embedded
in the URLs because that's the Right Way to do it, for a number of
reasons. One of the more important ones (8^): I don't use Netscape's
mail client, and I hate having to dig the address out of the status
bar.
I can see removing the person's _name_ from the URL, so that instead
of
<a href="mailto:martin@xemacs.org">
Martin Buchholz
%lt;martin(a)xemacs.org&gt;
</a>
it reads
Martin Buchholz
<a href="mailto:martin@xemacs.org">
%lt;martin(a)xemacs.org&gt;
</a>
How's that strike you?

Consider that on the list of things that will be dealt with this
weekend.
