 Did investigation yield some results?  Were it some local changes?  Or
 1.15.2.18 from CVS works and 1.15.2.19 does not?  If so, exact
 reproduction of conditions causing this will be appreciated. 
   i forgot to investigate... i also forgot to say that the next day i
   used info in a new instance of xemacs and everything worked as it
   was supposed to work.

   i'm sorry for the alarm i may have caused
