It seem that it was really the unexec code in unexelf.c.
I simply copied the object file (unexelf.o) from version 4
to the sources of version 7 and dumped a new xemacs (on jura).
And guess what?
Everything works really fine
(no segfaults, no bus errors, no illegal instructions).
I dumped xemacs again on some of the other machines and
got the same result :)) .
I would apprechiate to be told where the bug (if there's a bug)
exactly is (should also be replied to the newsgroup), when
somebody of your development team detects it.
