BTW, while I have you here :). Are you aware of a modeline bug in 21.5.28 that's definitely not present in 21.5.27? I've verified this on both Ubuntu and OS X. To reproduce: split the window in half, then M-x emacs-version RET. The output of emacs-version is more than one line, and you see the full output in the echo area. However, when you then hit C-g to clear the echo, it returns to a 1-line height minibuffer, but the modeline that should be in the center of the window has now crept upward by one line. Keep doing it long enough and the middle mode line will reach the top of the window. Where this really bites you is when you're prompted to save a file to a path that's bigger than 80 characters long. Do that enough and your top window just gets slowly eaten away.
