        Patched up from b41, downloaded Jareth's gifreader, patched
glyphs-eimage.c (see below), and built.  I have no packages except for 
20.4.  I think this is great.

External widget works, but it needs the patch that I sent in yesterday:

Here is the patch for glyphs-eimage.c to work with Jareth's
gifreader.  I think that everyone still have the old giflib lying
around.  Good thing I'm so far behind the curve.
