Apparently, this is fixed in JDE 2.2.6 (the XEmacs version is 2.1.9).
So I'll be working fervently with Paul K. (JDE maintainer) to get the
XEmacs version updated.

Unfortunately, I can't give you a time frame, but hopefully it will be
very soon.
