Please use M-x report-emacs-bug RET to format a report. We need the
information about your configuration to be able to guess what happened.
Also try using ulimit -c unlimited, start XEmacs from the command line
in your home directory. If you get a crash, use "gdb `which xemacs`
~/core | tee xemacs-backtrace" to start the debugger. Then type "bt"
to get a backtrace, and "quit". You should now have a backtrace of
the crash in ~/xemacs-backtrace; please attach it to your report, if
possible. Are you using a home-built XEmacs, or their .deb? Since
Debian strips binaries as a matter of policy, the backtrace is
probably worthless :-(. You probably should CC the Debian maintainer
(see
http://bugs.debian.org/ for how to do this). He's the only one
with any hope of interpreting it.
Also, we prefer that you use M-x report-emacs-bug whenever you send a
new report. Please don't worry about our bandwidth.
