Hello!
I have spent the last couple of months devloping a browser for a
system used to inspect a huge number of source code points based on
the result of batch oriented source code analysis system.
I have implemented the browser in Emacs Lisp. While doing this, I
have realized the need for an object-oriented extension.
I have read Ben Wing's excellent discussion on "Architecting XEmacs"
(
http://www.xemacs.org/Architecting-XEmacs). It is a major
undertaking to extend the Lisp Machine with CLOS facilities. And it
might not be desirable either to go that way. CLOS is unnecessarily
complicated.
Until the dust seattles in the battle over where to take Emacs Lisp,
I wonder if you are aware of a Emacs Lisp Package that implements the
ability to define objects with classes, inheritance, and
polymorphism?
For my next Emacs Lisp project, I am very tempted to write such a
package, unless there is a good one already out there to use.
Would there be any interest for such a package?
With Kindest Regards
