Which exactly the root of the problem. The mark is used for two
different things, i.e. remembering old cursor positions and marking
one edge of a region. Sometimes these clash.
A much cleaner solution would be to separate the two functions better.
For instance I like the fact that I can return to where I was after an
isearch but I would also very much like to just mark the beginning of
the reason and then jumping to (near) the end by isearching.
