This is the process bug that's been plaguing 21.5 since just before
Ben went on his holiday.
Not sure if it's related. But is it possible that the man problems that I
reported with XEmacs CVS is related to this ? Since manual-entry spawns an
external process to do the manual generation and cleans up the output, I
thought it might be related. My problem is this:
When I do M-x manual-entry and open up the manual for say open(2), I get a
screen filled with garbage characters (^H^H) along with the output of man.
The *scratch* buffer goes into Manual mode whereas the Manual buffer goes
into Fundamental mode.
I don't get this with both xemacs -q as well as when I use XEmacs 21.4.
Same settings, same machine, same compiler etc. etc.
I also don't get any errors or backtraces. I thought that there was
something wrong with the Rosetta man package that I am using. So I even
tried with Manual-use-rosetta-man to nil so that all cleaning up is handled
in lisp. But it didn't help. Any idea on how to debug this one ?
