That's exactly why it quotes them, because it knows its running
under windows. Unfortunately, there are several Windows
platforms and shells, all of which handle string quoting
differently, and it's hard to keep them straight.
Well, then I can't think
of anything better than more customizations -
double-backslashes, quote-colon... Or some
higher level windows-file-path-quoting-regex... Is there anything
like that in dired?
