XEmacs 21.1.10 dumped core while reading a webpage using w3 (incidentally the xemacs-beta mailing list archive). First my machine came to a virtual halt and running 'top' showed my machine working 50% under interrupt context. After about a couple of minutes in that state, xemacs crashed and dumped core. I ran gdb on the core and the executable (I have the source code also) and the backtrace shows a stack 4480 functions deep. I realize xemacs is a complex piece of software but function calls 4480 deep is a bit too complex and it looks more like infinite recursive function calls. I have a script file that captured the gdb session with all the 4480 (and more, but I quit after some time) functions on the stack. The reason for the crash is signal 4, Illegal instruction. I have attached the script file. Is there anything else that I can do to help?
