I know, IMO the upstream package is wrong. And I don't think this is
what Uwe is talking about. Right, Uwe?
Hm I am a little lost.
It is as follows: I install Christophs latest x-symbol, in package
form. I do this, just untarring it into ~/.xemacs/xemacs-packages
so far so good.
now i un install it and install the 1.03 official x-symbol package via
PUI, just when i open a tex file the world breaks down, that is
the tex file is not in x-symbol-mode as it should.
so i de install it again, and try to make and experiment:
i try just to untar the pkg in my ~/.xemacs/xemacs-packages
but this does not work i cannot untar the file, i get the error
message mentioned above. whether this error message has something todo
with the problems i mention, i don't know.
unfortunately i am very short on time right now. so long testing is
impossible, if i am the only guy who complains, forget it
