That problem was posted quite a while ago. A couple of
days later it just simply magically cured itself for
reasons unknown to me. That sort of thing is typical of
the stuff that happens when you rebuild a system from
scratch. It takes a while for all the pieces to stop
rolling. Sometimes moving to a new release is mostly a
matter of trading one set of bugs for another.
Meanwhile I discovered that I can no longer rebuild
xemacs from source. That problem remains, but doesn't
matter because the version I have works fine. It's not
an xemacs problem -- I'm evidently missing a bunch of
build stuff. I don't know why and I don't know what.
Doesn't matter for now.
