I have been trying to install xemacs-21.4.12-6 version which is
supposed to be for redhat 9. When I install it says that it needs
"apel-xemacs >= 10.4" I presume this is an rpm package.
Correct.
When I do a search on the net, what I find is
"apel-xemacs-10.4-3.noarch.rpm", which is apparently for xemacs and
redhat9, but it still insists on "apel-xemacs >= 10.4" . It appears
that "apel-xemacs >=10.4" does not exist. I have downloaded the 10.6
version, thinking that ">=" meant any packages higher than 10.4, but
it still did not work.
apel-xemacs-10.4-3.noarch.rpm exists on the Red Hat 9 CD's, and for
example
http://www.funet.fi/pub/mirrors/ftp.redhat.com/redhat/linux/9/en/os/i386/...
Works fine here (RH9). If it doesn't work for you, I'd suggest
contacting Red Hat for support as this is not an XEmacs problem.
