problem: having built xemacs 21.1.14 from source using freebsd 4.6-RELEASE ports collection, as soon as i bring it up, it reports "memory exhausted" and does nothing further. incidentally, the same version of xemacs21.1.14, under freebsd 4.4, worked perfectly fine, without this error. that machine had 128 megs, and a pII processor. also, emacs21 works perfectly well on this machine (running freebsd 4.6-REL). current version: xemacs 21.1.14, "Cuyahoga Valley" [Lucid] (i386--freebsd) of Mon Jul 22 2002 on cello.CS.Berkeley.EDU I am running a dual-athlon processor machine with a Tyan motherboard, and 512 megs of RAM. ulimit is unlimited. unlimited results of my dmesg: Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
